FOI/1900 - Speed Enforcement Cameras
Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your email received on the 21 November 2025 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and we provide a response for your attention.
You asked:
Could you please provide me with the following FOI details regarding the two Speed Enforcement Camaras that were installed on the A196 at Guide Post on Wednesday 6th August 2025.
1. What is the enforcement policy applicable to drivers breaking the statutory speed limit?
2. How many vehicles have been recorded breaking the statutory speed limit each month since their installation, east bound and west bound?
3. How many enforcement notices have been issued?
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Force Coordination and Operations Department of Northumbria Police. We can confirm that the information you have requested is not held by Northumbria Police as we have not installed any Speed Enforcement Cameras on the A196 at Guidepost.
