Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your email received on the 8 January 2026 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.

I am requesting information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please could you provide the following:
1. The total number of cases of intimate image abuse / revenge porn received by the police force between 31 June 2025 to 1 January 2026.
Total = 134.
2. The total number of these cases within this timeframe that were closed with no further action by the police force.
Total = 74.
3. The number of cases within this timeframe that were closed without further action due to evidential difficulties
Total = 13
4. The number of cases within this timeframe that were closed without further action because they were not deemed to be in the public interest.
Total = 9.
