Three members of an organised crime group who sought to flood the UK with millions of pounds worth of cocaine and methamphetamine have been jailed.
Forty-year-old Phillips was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court this morning (Friday) for a string of domestic abuse offences committed against two women. Both women were ex-partners of Phillips and reported the abuse after their respective relationships had concluded as they were in fear of the abuse escalating. Phillips broke one woman's spine and pelvis by driving a car at her, and threatened to drive another woman off a cliff.

Detectives have praised the courage of a victim-survivor of child sexual offences as she describes the ‘everyday trauma’ she lives with. Frankie Nielsen, 38, initially sent sexually explicit messages to the secondary school-aged girl. However, the abuse escalated and he then went on to sexually assault the victim-survivor twice. Now, the girl describes how she has gone from feeling ‘safe in her everyday life’ to ‘disgusted and too scared to tell her family’.
A man has been sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for the sexual abuse he committed more than three decades ago. Philip Watson, now 60 years old, sexually assaulted three schoolboys on separate occasions between across the 1990s. The abuse was committed in the Sunderland and Northumberland areas when Watson was employed as a teaching assistant.
