Your local policing team is made up of dedicated neighbourhood officers and community support officers.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.

Overnight Vehicle Crime
Action taken:
Our officers continue to tackle this issue through analysing the crimes, crime prevention advice and proactively targeting known and identified offenders. There have been notable arrests and prosecutions of target offenders that have seen some receive custodial sentences.

Tackling motorcycle related anti-social behaviour
Action taken:
Your neighbourhood team have used local knowledge and reporting data to identify hotspot areas and increase their visibility at these locations. We continue to work in collaboration with internal and external partners to educate, divert and deter and prosecute offenders. Seizing offending vehicles and having them destroyed. We currently have innovative operations being carried out that make the best use of technology options along with specialist traffic officers in a problem solving approach to dealing with this issue.

Youth anti-social behaviour in Blakelaw
Action taken:
Blakelaw has recently seen a spike of youth related ASB since 30th August, following 4 months of having the lowest levels of ASB across Newcastle.
Various tactics and operations are already in place or are planned, which include plain clothes and hi-vis uniform deployments, supported by local authority officers and youth outreach workers.
To date, 17 youths have already been identified as responsible for a range of offences including arson, affray, public order offences and traffic offences relating to e-scooters/ Surron bikes and off road bikes.
